Brought up in boxing gyms and brawling pubs, James Ward Breen brings this unexpected nexus to his voice as a storyteller. As a stills photographer, he has travelled the world driven to tell stories that celebrate our unique customs and traditions, his ever growing body of work showing his innate ability to capture the essence of the people and cultures he connects with.

James’ first ever screenplay The Killer Within was accepted into the Screen NSW Aurora Script Development program and is currently being financed by Prodigy Movies. His follow up, The Last Publican was invited to participate in the Binger Filmlab Amsterdam and has received development support from Screen Australia.

His award wining short films have screened at film festivals worldwide, and he is currently in post production on feature documentary After The Swill. James has been a NSW State Medal winner for his studies in film and a masterclass student of esteemed directing coach Judith Weston in her Los Angeles studio.

He currently lives in Sydney, Australia and is able to tell stories wherever he is needed.
